Arthritis New Zealand Summer Scholarships
The purpose of this scholarship is to engage and support students in research in the area of arthritis under the supervision of an experienced research professional working in academia, health service provision or other types of institutional organisations. Arthritis New Zealand uses its research funding programme to achieve four key objectives, including to contribute to the body of research that seeks to determine the cause of arthritis, prevention of arthritis, improvement of early diagnosis and treatment of all forms of arthritis. The Summer Scholarships are granted for small research projects with the intention of enabling students to develop valuable research skills. Projects are to be undertaken over the course of a 10-12 week period.


Asia: NZ Postgraduate Research Grants
The grants aim to support new research that promotes debate and discussion on matters relating to Asia and New Zealand, with implications for foreign and trade or economic policy.


Attitude Trust Communication Scholarship
To further this goal, The Attitude Trust is proud to offer a tuition fee scholarship to applicants with disabilities. The scholarship is worth up to $5,000 per year (paid directly to the education provider) and will continue for the duration of the recipient’s qualification (subject to completion requirements). In addition, we offer one week of work experience with Attitude Pictures Ltd for each year of study.


Auckland Council Environmental Student Partnership Programme
We are seeking five students interested in applied marine, terrestrial or freshwater research.


Auckland Council Research Scholarship in Urban Economics
The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage and support postgraduate research into urban economics that has relevance to local government in New Zealand, and to Auckland in particular.   Research will be carried out at a New Zealand university in one of two categories:   1.      Economic research that is directly relevant to the Auckland Plan or Auckland Council’s Unitary Plan, particularly studies related to transportation and infrastructure economics, market forces in the development of cities, land, housing and urban economics, and environmental economics. 2.      Economic research that addresses a topic which is relevant to and informs the economic knowledge of local government in Auckland and New Zealand, particularly with regard to challenges we are facing including housing, infrastructure, social inequity, climate change/environmental outcomes.

AUT - Summer Research Scholarship - Business School
Summer Research Scholarships support and enhance research at the University. Auckland University of Technology (AUT) provide promising undergraduate, final-year honours and first-year master’s degree students the opportunity to gain valuable research experience working with leading researchers at AUT. Summer Research can enhance career opportunities and encourage students to pursue postgraduate study by experiencing the challenges and rewards of research.


AUT -Wuhan University Semester Fees Scholarship
In order to strengthen the partnership between Wuhan University and Auckland University of Technology (AUT), AUT will offer up to four fee scholarships annually (two in Semester 1 and two in Semester 2) for one semester of study in an undergraduate degree programme within the Faculty of Culture and Society based at AUT.   


AUT Accommodation Scholarship - Office of Maori Advancement
The Office of Māori Advancement provides accommodation scholarships to support Māori students residing in approved AUT accommodation.


AUT BEL Postgraduate Pacific Scholarship
AUT BEL Postgraduate Pacific Scholarship is available to full-time students of Pacific Island descent undertaking postgraduate programmes of study in BEL in eligible Professional Masters programmes (see Appendix for list of eligible programmes) who have demonstrated the potential to achieve highly.


AUT BEL Postgraduate Scholarship Karahipi Māori
AUT BEL Postgraduate Scholarship Karahipi Māori is available to full-time students undertaking postgraduate programmes of study in BEL in eligible Professional Masters programmes (see Appendix for list of eligible programmes) who have demonstrated the potential to achieve highly.


AUT Doctoral Scholarships
From 2019 AUT will offer two categories of AUT Scholarships: AUT Vice Chancellor’s Doctoral Scholarships (conditions apply see eligibility criteria) a. New doctoral applicants with a GPA of 8.0 or above in their most recent qualifying programme will be guaranteed a scholarship provided the qualifying programme was completed at a New Zealand university and they meet the additional conditions below; or  b. New Māori and domestic Pacific doctoral applicants with a GPA of 7.5 or above, from their most recent qualifying programme will be guaranteed a scholarship provided the qualifying programme was completed at a New Zealand university and they meet the additional conditions below. Applicants applying under b) must be citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand. AUT Doctoral Scholarships The contestable rounds are open to all eligible applicants. Applicants may be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents, or International students. Applications open one month prior to the closing date.

AUT Find Your Greatness Scholarship - Engineering Computer and Mathematical Sciences
As an engineer you address the key issues we face today, like access to clean water, sustainable energy systems, waste management, recycling and environmental pressures. In our engineering degree you learn to formulate models and analyse, predict and monitor engineering systems – essential skills in professional engineering.  The School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences offers entry level scholarships to study for a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences at AUT.


AUT Find Your Greatness Scholarship - Bachelor of Science
Studying a Bachelor of Science is guaranteed to quench your thirst for knowledge about the world, and will be the start of a lifelong career in science. The School of Sciences at AUT offers scholarships to support study for a Bachelor of Science at AUT.


AUT Find Your Greatness Scholarships - School Leaver
AUT offers scholarships to secondary school students who are about to enter their first year of study at AUT in the following categories: Academic Excellence: High academic achievement. All Rounder: Contribution at a high level to the school or community. Applicants under this category must hold leadership positions and/or be active in cultural pursuits or sport at a representative level. Kiwa: Māori and Pacific students demonstrating all-round ability and leadership potential. Applicants applying under this category must declare that they are of Māori or Pacific descent and also declare this ethnicity when applying for admission to AUT. Hiki Ake (Lift Up):  Students demonstrating academic potential but are experiencing financial hardship or have been disadvantaged due to personal circumstances, making it difficult to undertake tertiary study.


AUT Foundation Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to recognise an academically able student who is making a positive contribution to the community and to encourage them to study at Honours, course work Master's or Postgraduate Diploma level at AUT University.


AUT Fulbright Scholarships
As a Fulbright Award fully supports a candidate for the first year, these scholarships are intended to enable Fulbright Award winners to complete their degree at AUT.


AUT International Academic Achievement Scholarship
Auckland University of Technology (AUT) provides this scholarship to recognise and support top achieving international students in their journey in becoming great graduates of AUT.


AUT International Excellence Scholarships - Faculty of Culture and Society
Auckland University of Technology (AUT) and the Faculty of Culture and Society provide scholarships to recognise and support high achieving international students as they begin their journey in becoming great graduates of AUT.


AUT International Student Accommodation Scholarships
The scholarship guarantees accommodation at AUT’s Te Āhuru Mayoral Drive Student Accommodation, located in the heart of Auckland city, just a minute’s walk from AUT City Campus, offering quality, modern, single studio-style living.


AUT PhD Scholarship - High Value Nutrition
In this project we will develop a new GSM-Fucoidan food product and scientifically validate its health benefits relating to anti-inflammatory properties, immune stimulation and glycaemic control in people with pre-diabetes or experiencing joint pain by conducting a clinical study in a Chinese population resident to New Zealand.  China is a major export market for GSM and the results from this study will provide the evidence needed to differentiate the product in the crowded Chinese market based on its established health benefits.  This project seeks to further elevate the status of GSM as a high-value food product for export and to support the development of a new Fucoidan industry in New Zealand by transforming what is currently a waste product into a high-value food with health benefits.    The project is delivered in partnership with Beyond Capital MedTech Management Ltd, who have co-funded the research and will produce the functional food product needed for the clinical study.  The research team is led by Professor Jun Lu and consists of a biomedical scientist, a clinical endocrinologist, a biostatistician, a physiotherapist, a rehabilitation health specialist from Auckland University of Technology and the University of Auckland, and an overseas food science expert from National University of Singapore.   Results are expected to be published by mid-2022.

The scholarships are available to students intending to enrol in a programme of study with equivalence of a 30-point (or above) research component in a bachelor with honours degree, or a 45-point (or above) research component in a master’s degree. The office of Māori Advancement offers AUT Postgraduate Research Scholarships - Māori Advancement to Māori students for postgraduate study at AUT. The office works closely with AUT Māori staff, students and the wider community in advising and implementing Mātauranga Māori kaupapa throughout AUT. AUT Postgraduate Research Scholarships are available to students undertaking study including a research component at Level 8 (Bachelor Honours Degree) or Level 9 (Master’s Degree) on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF) who have demonstrated the potential to achieve highly. The scholarships are available to students intending to enrol in a programme of study with equivalence of a 30-point (or above) research component in a bachelor with honours degree, or a 45-point (or above) research component in a master’s degree. AUT Staff MBA and PGDipBA Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to assist permanent full-time AUT staff members wishing to enter the Master of Business Administration or Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration programmes. These are high-cost programmes and not part of the nil-tuition fee programme for staff wishing to study.

Applicants applying under b) must be citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand. All other applicants must apply for an AUT Doctoral Scholarship.


AUT Welcome to Auckland Scholarship
AUT Welcome to Auckland Scholarships are available to high achieving secondary school students living in provincial/rural areas (out of Auckland) intending to enrol in bachelor’s degree study at AUT in Semester One of the year following application.
