Purpose
BMLS graduates are prepared for a career as a registered Medical Laboratory Scientist in a public hospital or a private medical laboratory. They are specialised health professionals and after fulfilling certain conditions are eligible to apply for registration. They will be prepared for postgraduate study.

Medical laboratory science: clinical chemistry, haematology, immunology, medical microbiology, cytogenetics, medical cytology, histology, transfusion science, virology.
