This course introduces and develops advanced clinical assessment and diagnostic skills for the management of common acute or chronic clinical presentations. It applies advanced knowledge of physiology, science, assessment, and diagnosis in the care of individuals in extended care or critical care settings. Extended Care Paramedicine (ECPs) will develop advanced assessment skills to support autonomous decision-making for patients with chronic conditions, delivering community-based care and primary health services in non-emergency settings. Critical Care Paramedicine (CCPs) will develop advanced assessment skills to manage high-acuity patients, applying rapid diagnostics and critical interventions in dynamic, life-threatening emergency settings.
