Explores kahu pōkai midwifery practice in Aotearoa NZ, in relationship to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, whānau-centred care, and as an autonomous profession. The philosophy and values of kahu pōkai midwifery are examined through the Scope, Standards for Competency, and Tūranga Kaupapa. Development of the theory related to assessment skills for whānau hapū ora.
