Study Abroad students extend and apply learning beyond the classroom in a New Zealand workplace setting. Professional and intercultural competence is developed by applying skills, knowledge and capabilities through experiential learning and reflecting on the relationship between theory and practice. Gaps in learning are identified and a future career plan developed. Cultural awareness is enhanced through the comparative analysis of a New Zealand work-based experience and that of the home culture.
