This course introduces students to a range of contemporary Aotearoa New Zealand texts, including: novels, plays, short stories, television and poetry. Students explore the diverse themes and concerns that can be seen in the literature and media of Aotearoa. They will analyse texts for their formal qualities, and consider the social contexts which give rise to and shape the expression of these themes and concerns in writing and other forms.
