This course provides advanced applied knowledge of electrical machines used in industrial power and energy systems. Building on prior studies in electrical circuits and introductory power engineering concepts, the course focuses on electromagnetic principles, operation, testing, and performance evaluation of DC machines, induction machines, and synchronous machines. Strong emphasis is placed on hands-on laboratory learning, industry-standard testing methods, and interpretation of experimental results. Students develop practical competence in analysing machine characteristics, efficiency, losses, starting behaviour, and braking methods, preparing them for professional engineering practice and advanced study in electrical machines and power systems.
