Students will develop understanding of additional Pacific language acquisition theories and development by engaging in learning an additional Pacific language. Through their own language development, students develop knowledge and appreciation for culture and knowledge embedded in the language and consider implications of this for their professional practice as teachers in educational settings in Aotearoa. They will also consider implications of their learning for English as second or other language learners.
