If you would like to gain a well known and highly regarded qualification in the fitness industry that gives you the ability to work competently on the gym floor with members, then become qualified as an AUT Fitness Instructor with the Short Course in Fitness Instruction.
We have two intakes per year (February/June) and there are two papers that you would need to successfully complete for the Short Course in Fitness Instruction. This programme is delivered part-time over the weekends from our AUT North Campus. If you successfully complete the two papers you may be a qualified fitness instructor within three months.
The short course focuses on weight training in a gym environment - therefore we highly recommend that you are an active gym member so you can put into practice what you are learning. This programme is delivered part-time on the weekends only at the AUT North Campus.
You are given access to the AUT Sport and Fitness Centres during your enrolment in each short course paper (from the start date to the assessment date). This will help you turn your theory into practical learning. Conditions apply*.
You may even decide to continue onto becoming a qualified personal trainer, with the AUT Short Course in Personal Training.
