International exchange for AUT students

Interested in travelling while completing your AUT degree? Lots of our students complete a semester or two at one of our partner universities on an international exchange.

Studying overseas can change your life – you’ll be immersed in another culture, meet new people and gain international experience. Cross credit the points back to your AUT degree and continue your studies when you return to New Zealand.

COVID-19 update: overseas study suspended

All AUT overseas study programmes scheduled for Semester 2 are suspended until further notice. These include the International Student Exchange programme.

If you’d like us to notify you when the programme is back in action, complete the form and we’ll be in touch.

Why should you go on exchange?

Here are just a few reasons you should take the opportunity to do exchange:

  • You’ll learn a lot – both academically and personally
  • You’ll return to AUT with more self-confidence and maturity
  • You’ll add value to your degree by experiencing different teaching styles and taking different courses
