AUT Early Childhood Centre cares for children (from 6 months to 5 years) of students and staff on AUT’s City Campus. This licensed, community based childcare centre is open plan and mixed age, with a separate indoor area for infants and toddlers.  AUT Early Childhood Centre caters for 40 children; 12 of whom can be under 2 years old.

About the AUT Early Childhood Centre

AUT Early Childhood Centre is not-for-profit and well-resourced – our money is spent on your children’s learning and improving our service to you.

We offer:

  • Highly-qualified and experienced teachers with low staff turnover – your child will benefit from developing ongoing, trusting relationships with teachers
  • High teacher/child ratios: 1:3 for infants and toddlers, 1:7 for children over 2 – we can give your child individualised attention
  • A multicultural community that celebrates and supports diversity – your child has the opportunity to mix with others from diverse backgrounds
  • Involvement with the wider community – your child will have opportunities for regular trips to the park, library, art gallery, AUT Marae, shops etc
  • A well-established childcare centre– we have experience in providing high quality childcare and a good reputation in the wider community
  • Research-focused – we base our practice on the latest research and best practice
