Graduated from Liverpool John Moores (UK) in 1993 with a BSc (Hons, class 1), and completed a PhD in 1997 from the University of Wolverhampton. Held lectureships at The University of North London, DeMontfort University (UK), Massey University (NZ), and Federation University (AUS).

Human skeletal muscle research and cardiovascular physiology research (1996 – 2010).
Currently progressing a research programme in the scholarship of teaching and learning, with collaborative projects ongoing in Australia and Fiji.
