Graduated from Liverpool John Moores (UK) in 1993 with a BSc (Hons, class 1), and completed a PhD in 1997 from the University of Wolverhampton. Held lectureships at The University of North London, DeMontfort University (UK), Massey University (NZ), and Federation University (AUS).
