After a period teaching LLB at London University and working in a medical negligence practice in the United Kingdom, I returned to New Zealand. One of my great regrets is turning down the London School of Economics when they offered me a temporary lectureship in Taxation Law.
I joined a commercial practice in Auckland which I discovered soon enough was not for me. I tutored Equity at the University of Auckland Law School before accepting a full time position in the Business School’s Department of Commercial Law. There I remained for 15 years teaching a diversity of subjects, including Contract Law, European Law, International Business Litigation (at Masters level) and, for a long period of time, Introduction to Law in the B Com.
I joined AUT Law School in its second year of operation (2010) and found myself involved heavily in the delivery of workshops, a feature of our programme that I believe is much to be admired.
My outside interests include sports (principally cricket, a sport in which I officiate), travel and history.
