Overview:

Dr Nan Jiang specializes in applied microeconomic analysis involving around two themes: (1) productivity and efficiency analysis; and (2) the translation of empirical economic analysis into practical policy tools, especially through the utilization of large integrated administrative datasets such as the Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI) and the Longitudinal Business Database (LBD). Some research projects have resulted real changes in current practices implemented by the District Health Boards and Ministry of Social Development. More recently, integrating the two research specialities, she is developing research programs focusing on the utilization of administrative datasets in advanced productivity and efficiency analysis. The sectors under exploration include heath, tertiary education, and construction.
