Overview:

Matthew is Associate Professor of Podiatry & Deputy Head of School within the School of Clinical Sciences at Auckland University of Technology. His research focus is on musculoskeletal conditions of the lower limb in chronic long term conditions. Since commencing his academic career in 2009 he has published widely in peer reviewed journals and presented national and internationally. Matthew has obtained in excess of $ 750K in competitive research grants. He is active in the supervision of higher degree students and lecturing in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. He is Associate Editor for BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders (IF: 1.739), Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Foot & Ankle Research (IF: 1.405) and an expert reviewer for Foot & Ankle Research Review. Matthew is an experienced academic leader having held various senior academic leadership positions. In 2018 Matthew was awarded a Senior Fellowship to the Higher Education Authority and Associate Fellow to the Higher Education Research & Development Society of Australasia in recognition of his contribution of leadership of teaching.
