Overview:

I am a pharmacist by training and a pharmaceutical scientist with well-established expertise in drug delivery and dosage form design. I lead the “Drug Delivery Research Group” in AUT. Our current research include:

1. Development of a 3D printed bio-bullet for vaccine delivery to wildlife

2. Development of a 3D printed intranasal scaffold for post-operative care

3. Development of a 3D printed ocular shield for the treatment of corneal diseases

4. Micro-encapsulation of probiotics for aquaculture applications

5. Formulation of natural pigments from marine species for food and cosmetics use

6. Development of aerogels from food-grade polymers for drug delivery

Research interests:

1. Design and development of novel drug delivery systems including implants, nano- and microcapsules.

2. 3D printing for biomedical applications

3. Design and development of veterinary drug delivery systems

4. Drug, nutrition and probiotic delivery systems for aquaculture applications

5. Encapsulation technology for food and cosmetic applications
