Dr Anna Jackson is a Senior Lecturer in the interdisciplinary Design Thinking Minor in the School of Art and Design. Anna’s research and teaching career began in Film, TV and Media Studies with a focus on Documentary Production. She is the co-founder and consulting producer at online short form documentary initiative, Loading Docs. Her interest in multimodal, interactive and immersive documentary and transmedia storytelling led to a lecturing position in Creative Technologies at Colab (AUT). A role as a Project Lead at a social change agency, Innovate Change sparked an interest in Human Centred and Participatory Design, which is the focus of Anna’s current teaching and research.

Research interests:

Current research projects explore teaching and learning practices in the areas of Design Thinking and Media Production. Anna is also interested in multimodal (immersive and interactive) storytelling and critical design.

Teaching summary:

Anna is currently teaching Design Thinking Practices and Co-Design and supervising postgraduate projects that explore immersive and interactive storytelling and media production pedagogy.
