Biography:

Zaid has a broad range of experience in Paramedicine in South Africa and New Zealand. He was employed by the government run ambulance service in South Africa in 1989 and worked there for for 13 years. He has experience in frontline Paramedic, Communication Centre and Specialised Medical Rescue. He immigrated to New Zealand in 2002 and was employed by St. John Ambulance, Auckland he practiced as Intensive Care Paramedic and Clinical Desk Advisor. In New Zealand Zaid studied at AUT and completed BHSc. Paramedicine, PGDip. Emergency Management, GradCert. Tertiary Teaching and PGCert. Education. Zaid took up a lecturer position at AUT in 2013, Department of Paramedicine.     

Teaching Areas:

Zaid currently teaches across the Undergraduate, Post Graduate Paramedicine program. In the undergraduate program Zaid leads third year Intermediate Life Support and Resuscitation for the New Zealand Defence Force program. In the Post Graduate program Zaid is the paper leader for Contemporary Intensive Paramedicine.
