David has submitted his thesis for the Master of International Hospitality Management and has researched in the area of hospitality employment relations. David has authored 14 conference papers from 2006 to 2009 and three journal articles. David is a member of the Work and Labour Market Institute.
Current Research Projects:
David is working with the Work and Labour Market Institute on ground-breaking research. It is conducting a major collaborative project with colleagues from Aalborg University, Denmark, on the links between productivity, employee participation and employee wellbeing.
This project received funding of $490,000 from the Danish Work Environment Fund, with New Zealand funding $24,000 from the Industrial Relations Foundation and the Human Resource Institute of New Zealand.
David's PHD topic is A History of Employment Relations in the New Zealand Hotel Sector, 1956 to 2010.
