AUT LIVE – the Most Open Day – is the new name of our course information event. It will be held on 27 August 2016 from 9am to 5pm at our City Campus.

Your future is a big decision, and we want to help you make the right one.

AUT LIVE is your opportunity to meet our academic staff, get comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate study information, experience our world-class spaces and facilities, and talk to the people who can help make your enrolment simple.

You can also tour our other sites on the day by hopping on an AUT shuttle bus to our North and South Campuses.

Guest Speakers
Well-known slam poet and inspirational speaker Joshua Iosefo will be sharing his university and personal journey at AUT LIVE. Don't miss it!

We're excited to announce that award-winning artist Jamie McDell will be headlining at AUT LIVE. Jamie is an AUT graduate and a talented singer-songwriter with Gold-certified hits including Life in sunshine and You'll never take that away.

Regional Transport
A number of free regional buses will be operating on the day to help get you to AUT LIVE. Buses will be running from the Bay of Plenty, Northland and Waikato, but seats are limited. Information on how to register your interest is below.

We will be making more announcements about the programme, key speakers, transport options and registration in the lead up to the event.

What's on

Registration for AUT LIVE opens at 9am. Programme sessions for specific study areas and student services run from 10am and generally last 30 minutes. The final programme session starts at 3pm, followed by a great line-up of entertainment.

Here is the schedule for the day. Once you register, we'll send you a link to our AUT LIVE mobile website, where you can plan your day in advance.

Study areas will have showcase spaces on campus, where you can meet lecturers and programme leaders, and ask any questions you have regarding study at AUT in 2017. Our student services team will also be available to help you with your application.

At AUT LIVE, you'll be able to experience more of what we have to offer by joining a tour of our labs network, on-campus studios and facilities, student accommodation, and AUT North or South Campus.

You'll also have access to free WiFi on the day. If you’re after something to eat or drink during AUT LIVE, there’s a wide variety of food and beverage choices available at the AUT City, North and South Campuses. St Paul Street will be filled with food trucks and Piko, our on-campus café and training restaurant will be open, along with all of the other eateries on campus.



We've got a stellar line-up of entertainment planned for the day - from Parris Goebel's proteges - the Royal Family Varsity Dance Crew, to Fazerdaze, and AUT's very own Jamie McDell.

Jamie McDell
We're stoked to announce Jamie as the headlining act at AUT LIVE. She's an established musician with a great catalogue, including Gold-certified hits Life in Sunshine and You'll never take that away.  

Royal Family Varsity Dance Crew
Under the guidance of internationally renowned choreographer, Parris Goebel, the Royal Family varsity crew will bring their unique and energetic polyswagg style to AUT LIVE. It's a performance not to be missed!

2016 is proving a big year for Amelia Murray, aka Fazerdaze. With a UK tour and a selection for the Red Bull Music Academy in Montreal, Canada, she is an act not to be missed. Make sure you visit the Hikuwai main stage to experience her instinctive approach to music.

Sweet Mix Kids
After performing at some of the best concerts the world over (Coachella, Wanderlust, Rhythm & Vines), it makes sense that we'd get Auckland based DJ duo Sweet Mix Kids to perform at AUT LIVE. Their live performances incorporate live electronic drums and a classic AKAI 2000XL MPC sampler, all for your listening pleasure!


Food & Drinks

If you're looking to refuel, we've got a great selection of food and beverage options for you to choose from. Our City, North and South Campus cafes are all open, along with Piko - our on-campus cafe and training restaurant.

Food trucks will be located on St Paul Street throughout the day, including Dixie Barbecue, Temaki Truck, Stumpys Pizza and more.

Regional Transport (free service)

A number of free regional buses will be operating on the day to help get you to AUT LIVE. Buses will be running from Hamilton, Kerikeri, Rotorua, Tauranga, Whangarei and a number of towns along the way to bring you to the event. Seats are limited and will be given on a first come, first serve basis, so make sure that you register your interest early.

Getting around

AUT LIVE will be staged at our central City Campus.

Park and ride facilities are available on the day from our North and South Campus, with AUT shuttle buses bringing you and your family to the City Campus. Parking is limited at the North and South Campus so make sure that you arrive early to secure a park.

Shuttle buses will be running to and from the City Campus, to our North and South Campuses throughout the day. Check out the shuttle bus timetable here. From 8am to 10am and 3pm to 5pm, the buses will be running in 15 minute intervals, whilst from 10.30am to 2.30pm the buses will run every half hour.
