What future international students need to know

Hear from International House graduates

Areej Khalil

Master of Engineering
“I would highly recommend doing the GIE programme before you’re starting your university studies. The learning atmosphere motivates students to do their best. One of the things I have found most helpful was that the programme helped me learn how to write and speak professionally in English.”

Guannan Zu

Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering
“Studying at International House not only provides you with the English skills you need for university study in New Zealand, but also helps you become familiar with the environment and teaching facilities here as you’ll be based at the AUT City Campus.”

Qifeng (Conner) Chen

Master of Business Management
“Studying at International House can help you improve your English, achieve your academic goals and prepare you for further study, and it gives you the opportunity to make new friends, and experience the beauty of Auckland.”

Qorinah Estiningtyas Sakilah Adnani

Doctor of Philosophy in Midwifery
“I acquired a priceless experience in English and had many conversations with the tutors. Every week our classes had timed writing, so everybody in the class derived an opportunity to practise English, and hone and improve their writing skills.”

Abenta de Costa

Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Accounting
“When I started my educational journey at AUT, the challenges I had experienced were academic English in reading, writing, listening and speaking. My difficulties were solved through the GIE course at AUT International House. My writing, reading, speaking and listening improved and that led me to succeed in my academic journey.”

Chang Liu

Master of Marketing
“I met many amazing teachers and staff here. The teachers made learning not a dull thing but a great joy. I recently graduated with merit and got a decent job. I have to thank International House for their help towards my success. Keep speaking English loudly – the more you practise the better you get!”

AUT abides by the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021

The Code sets out minimum standards of advice and care that you can expect and provides a procedure that you can follow if you have concerns about the treatment you receive from us or an AUT registered agent.

Responsibility for pastoral care of international students under the Code is for the duration of enrolment.

More about the code

iStudents Complaints is an independent dispute resolution scheme established by the New Zealand Government. It helps international students resolve disputes between students and their education provider.
