A commitment to student success drives the AUT Foundation, which is entrusted with the management and transparency of resources gifted for the benefit of the AUT community. Thanks to our supporters’ high level of passion and dedication, our students and staff have access to increased opportunities throughout their time at AUT.
You can support a wide range of faculty and school scholarships, awards, prizes and sponsorship opportunities. You can also give on behalf of a loved one to ensure their memory and legacy live on.
Opened in 1913, Seddon Memorial Technical College (SMTC) is the founding educational institution from which AUT emerged. AUT recognises the important part that its SMTC heritage has played on the success of AUT as a university.
With the support of generous alumni, teaching staff and a greater community, a scholarship has been set up in their honour. It is available to eligible final-year bachelor studies students, to study at honours or masters level at AUT. These students would have demonstrated academic achievement and contribution to their community.
To support the SMTC Scholarships Fund, you can email us or donate online.
A bequest costs nothing now, but can provide the satisfaction of knowing your passion for education will live on in the future.
There are several important considerations to make when thinking about making a bequest. We recommend you consult your legal or other professionals who have drawn up your will, and also discuss your intentions with your family.
AUT can arrange for free legal advice from AUT’s legal counsel and can provide appropriate ‘will wording’ to make the process easier.
Individuals - You can claim up to 33.3% tax rebate on all donations up to the amount equal to your annual net income. There is no tax rebate threshold on cash donations.
Companies - Companies can claim a tax deduction on all donations up to the amount equal to their annual net income. There is no limit on tax deductions.
Whether you are gifting via the AUT Foundation or the Friends of AUT Inc., AUT recommends that you seek tax advice specific to your circumstances.
