Tuvalu Language Week

Tuvalu language week gives us at AUT a great reason to celebrate all things Tuvaluan.

We are using Pacific language weeks to discuss and promote the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In light of Tuvalu language week, we have shaped our conversation around SDG 7: Affordable & Clean Energy.

We ask our Tuvaluan students: Why should renewable energy be our future?

Tuvalu is leading the way for other nations to follow by working towards getting 100% of their electricity from renewable sources.

"When I visited Tuvalu for the first time I was struck by their faith. The church is a big part of the lives of Tuvaluans and in this quote I feel a connection to my culture of Tuvalu. "Even though we are effected by climate change and rising sea levels, our culture is so strong in Tuvalu and here in New Zealand: because of the strength we have in our faith."
