Treaty of Waitangi

The Treaty of Waitangi establishes the foundation for modern Aotearoa/New Zealand society. Familiarity with the Treaty and its principles, and how they influence the operation and responsiveness of many organisations is becoming a key requirement of staff development and training. Te Ara Poutama focuses on training and research on Treaty issues.  Staff have written books on the Treaty, prepared Treaty claims and provided evidence for the Waitangi Tribunal. In addition, the Faculty offers workshops for organisations interested in Treaty issues.
