In recent years alone New Zealand has seen a significant shift in its media landscape. The advent of a Māori television channel has opened many doors for people interested in working in Māori media and regardless of ethnicity, having a strong foundation in te reo Māori and basic tikanga is highly valued in a field that depends almost entirely on communication.
The Bachelor of Māori Development has majors in Māori Media and Māori Development. It is also possible to enrol in the degree without specifying a major.
An alternative is to enrol in a Bachelor of Arts with a Māori Development major.
