Sports Kinesiology

Sports Performance Centre
The Sports Performance Centre (SPC) is the consulting arm of the School of Sport and Recreation. SPC was established in 1997 and provides sports science services to developmental and elite level athletes. It is part of the New Zealand Academy of Sport Northern Region system and is the largest provider of Academy services in New Zealand. Advanced metabolic and muscular assessments and programming for a wide variety of sports is the specialty of this unit.

Running Mechanics Clinic

The Running Mechanics Clinic is a specialist service like no other in New Zealand. We combine scientific video analysis with an assessment of body structure and function to identify the underlying causes of running-related injuries. This helps us to achieve three key objectives:

  • Prevent injury
  • Rehabilitate injuries
  • Enhance performance

The clinic is accessible to all levels of runners and sports people, from recreational runners and sports people, right through to the elite.

Golf Swing Clinic Golf Swing Clinic

The Golf Swing Clinic at the AUT Sport & Fitness Centre offers a variety of education, research and community use opportunities. Featuring an eight bay all weather range it is open to any golfer wanting to develop their skills and practise their swing.
