Diploma in Sport and Recreation

The Diploma in Sport and Recreation equips you with the practical and supervisory skills required to work as a professional in the recreation industry. A broad range of skills are covered, including exercise science, coaching, programme and event management, quality service and supervision. You may be able to continue your studies by cross-crediting to the Bachelor of Sport and Recreation.

Admission and entry requirements

  • NCEA 48 Level 2 credits including 8 Level 2 credits in a language rich subject
    OR
  • CIE: Total 60 Points at UCAS, including a language rich subject

Additional entry requirements

  • NCEA preferred subjects may include Health, Physical Education, Maths, Sciences and English
  • Statement letter of intent required
    Provide a brief statement (1 page maximum) outlining your goals and career aspirations for the sport and recreation industry and your current involvement within the sport and recreation industry. Include contact details of two referees.
  • An interview may be required
  • Fitness to practice addendum
  • Police Clearance
