Certificate in Sport and Recreation: Golf Coaching

A certificate for students with an interest in golf or golf coaching

Golf is a multi-million dollar industry that encompasses player management, event management, training and coaching. With a career as a golf coach you will ultimately help those who desire to improve their playing ability. The skills you gain will give you the ability to get the best out of yourself and others.

During your time at AUT University you will learn about exercise science, event management, professional development, skill analysis, coaching practice, and sports psychology, all of which will help you develop your career as a golf coach.

Beginners to Golf and/or to English can commence their study with up to a year-long preparatory study of golf and/or English at Certificate level. On the completion of these studies, those students who achieve an IELTS score of 5.5 or its equivalent, and have achieved a golf handicap of 18 or better, are eligible to enter the Diploma in Sport and Recreation in their second year

Students may enter their Certificate study with an IELTS of 5.0 or equivalent and undertake the one semester Certificate in English for Academic Study. At the same time, students should also enrol into the Foundation Golf paper to begin the development of their golfing skills. Once students have achieved an IELTS of 5.5 or equivalent English language skill level, they are eligible to enrol into the one semester Certificate in Sport and Recreation.
