Strength & Conditioning Services

Weights RoomStrength and conditioning programmes are targeted at improving specific physical capacities in order to improve athletic performance. SPC staff have a wealth of experience in the development and implementation of conditioning programmes.

Specifically tailored strength and conditioning programs can be written for all athletes, and are most effective when combined with our sports fitness testing services. Face-to-face strength and conditioning sessions can also be arranged for both individuals and teams.

These tailored programmes can include written programmes, fitness testing to monitor athletic development, as well as face-to-face strength and conditioning sessions.

Field Testing

performance1To determine an individual’s strength and weaknesses a range of fitness tests can be conducted. This provides our physical conditioners with information about the individual and helps them provide an individualised programme.

Such assessments include:

  • Measurement of speed (with timing gates)
  • Measurement of agility
  • performance3Measures of explosive leg power
  • Repeat Sprint Ability
  • Strength (limbs and core)
  • Flexibility

All tests are matched closely to the sports/exercise the individual participates in.
