ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • NCEA: 48 Level 2 credits including 8 Level 2 credits in a language rich subject.
    OR CIE: Total 60 points on the UCAS Tariff, including a language rich subject.
  • Completion of Year 13 is recommended.

The Diploma in Japanese is designed for people who want knowledge and skills in Japanese language, culture and business etiquette. It is a vocational programme, enabling students to become competent communicators in Japanese, particularly in terms of oral fluency, for social and business needs. This is achieved through intensive academic language study and practical application of language, the development of sound cultural awareness, specialist language skills and knowledge of business and hospitality etiquette. It is ideal for those who want to focus on intensive language study, including graduates who want to add a language to their existing qualification.
