The Diploma in Interpreting and Translation has been designed to be taken part time over two years.  This is a comprehensive course designed to prepare professional interpreters and translators to work in a variety of community settings in New Zealand or to carry out a range of translation assignments for clients both in New Zealand and overseas. 

Entry requirements

The applicant for whom English is an additional language must provide evidence of oral and written proficiency in English equivalent to IELTS level 7 or higher.

An applicant whose first language is English will normally have studied their language other than English (LOTE) at tertiary level and successfully completed an AUT language proficiency assessment demonstrating proficiency within public, political and educational domains. An interview is required.
