WHAT THIS PROGRAMME COVERS

The MPhil is a one year research only degree. It provides an opportunity for interdisciplinary research of an applied or professional nature.

The degree allows a student to complete a one year research project and thesis, and may provide a pathway to doctoral studies.

Andy Gibson. OUR GRADUATES SPEAK - ANDY GIBSON

Andy Gibson's MPhil research looked at the American-influenced accent we use when singing in New Zealand. The project was such a 'hit' that media outlets around the country were all over it.

Andy’s says his decision to do his MPhil at AUT was based on the quality of supervision and the supportive environment in which to do postgraduate study.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates wishing to advance their careers and make a contribution to advancing areas of knowledge and critiquing existing knowledge, practices and policies will find the skills developed during the research process invaluable. Popular career destinations for research graduates are education (all levels), public (governmental) and private agencies and departments both New Zealand based and international.
