Work Integrated Learning (previously called Co-op) in hospitality, tourism

At AUT we want to provide students with a transition between your studies and the world of employment. Workplace experience and strong industry links provide students with work opportunities in a variety of major New Zealand organisations.

Hospitality and tourism students undertake a Work Integrated Learning placement in their final semester, working with an organisation on a project relating to their major.

Programmes that include Work Integrated Learning:

Work Integrated Learning lays career foundation
Erin

"For me, the best part of the degree was the workplace experience in my final semester. It's such a great opportunity to gain industry experience before you graduate. I did my work placement at Explore NZ, assisting with the implementation of their Waiheke ferry service. This was invaluable as they offered me a permanent role here when I graduated from AUT."

-Erin Faulkner, Product Support, Explore NZ, Auckland
Bachelor of International Tourism Management in Environmental Studies
