Brent Hartshorne
HELPING OTHERS
Brent’s belief that the key to staying young is to keep on learning has seen him tackle a degree later in life and end up with a rewarding vocation in mental health support work. Now, he helps people who have suffered or are suffering from a mental illness get back into the “swing of their local community”, through his role as a support worker at Pathway Health in Auckland. He was also awarded an AUT Community Partner Scholarship for his efforts but credits the good relationships he developed with his lecturers as the key to his success.
