An emergency management career requires an understanding of comprehensive emergency management principles and the ability to work within legal and political frameworks. You develop emergency management capabilities in hazard identification, risk reduction, planning, response delivery and coordination, and community recovery.
This qualification informs and advances current emergency management practice and provides a platform for those considering postgraduate study in emergency management.
You acquire skills in:
Emergency managers work in local or central government departments, district health boards, civil defence emergency management groups, not-for-profit groups, or as members of an emergency response or recovery team.
