Health Sciences Undergraduate Courses

Health is one of the fastest growing sectors in New Zealand and the future couldn't be brighter for those getting involved in healthcare. AUT's health sciences undergraduate courses combine a diverse overview of health with opportunity for specialisation in chosen areas. We have a strong focus on interprofessional and collaborative education so you become one of the most sought after professionals in New Zealand and further afield.

We offer the following undergraduate courses:

Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc) degree

The BHSc degree offers you an indepth understanding of healthcare and provides you a wide range of majors and specialties, allowing you to specialise your education for your chosen career. The BHSc is structured so that you can study: without a major; with a major which involves work placements, or as a specialised degree which involves clinical placements. What ever your choice of study, AUT provides you the skills and knowledge to be among the best in the world.

Interesting information

Te Ara Hauora Māori Papers

Students who wish to seek careers with a Māori development perspective, should select: Māori Health, Development and Environment; Māori Health Promotion; Applied Primary Māori Mental Health; and Utilising Supervision in Practice as electives or as an alternative course of study. Te Ara Hauora Māori students will be supported to form relationships with Māori health providers, industry stakeholders and communities, and AUT Māori staff and students.
