Midwifery council re-certification programme

The AUT Midwifery department has been approved as a provider for the following courses:
  • Midwifery Technical Skills Workshops for Registered Midwives (Not running in 2013)
  • AUT Pharmacology and Prescribing Compact Course for Midwives
  • Adult and Neonatal CPR Study Day (Not running in 2013)

Midwifery Technical Skills Workshops for Registered Midwives


Midwifery Technical Skills Workshops will not be offered by AUT this year (2013), NZCOM will be picking up some extra days for the Auckland Region.

AUT Pharmacology and Prescribing Course 2013

Registered Midwives undertaking Elective Education Points (approved for 25 points)
Midwives who have registration with the New Zealand Midwifery Council (including the right to prescribe) are entitled to claim 25 elective education points from the New Zealand Midwifery Council once certificate of completion has been issued.

Overseas Midwives undertaking a competency programme
Overseas midwives completing the Pharmacology and Prescribing compact course for Midwives as part of New Zealand registration (prescribing rights) are NOT entitled to claim New Zealand Midwifery Council elective education points.
