Midwifery: Continued Education Study Information

Midwifery council re-certification programmeAUT, the Auckland District Health Board (ADHB) and Birthcare Auckland have combined resources to offer re-certification days for practising midwives who need to meet compulsory re-certification requirements.
Midwifery re-certification days offered in 2015 are:
- Combined Emergency Skills Day
- Midwifery Practice Day

AUT Pharmacology and Prescribing Course 2015Registered midwives undertaking elective education points (approved for 25 points)
Midwives who have registration with the New Zealand Midwifery Council (including the right to prescribe) are entitled to claim 25 elective education points from the New Zealand Midwifery Council once certificate of completion has been issued.
Overseas midwives undertaking a competency programme
Overseas midwives completing the Pharmacology and Prescribing compact course for Midwives as part of New Zealand registration (prescribing rights) are NOT entitled to claim New Zealand Midwifery Council elective education points.
