Midwifery council re-certification programme

The AUT Midwifery department has been approved as a provider for the following courses:

  • Midwifery Technical Skills Workshops for Registered Midwives
  • AUT Pharmacology and Prescribing Course
  • Adult and Neonatal CPR Study Day
  • Breastfeeding Study Day


Midwifery Technical Skills Workshops for Registered Midwives

All dates for 2011 are fully booked.  The 2012 Midwifery Technical Skills Flyer will be available in March.  Feel free to email tskolmen@aut.ac.nz to add your details to our emailing list.


AUT Pharmacology and Prescribing Course 2012

Registered Midwives undertaking Elective Education Points (approved for 25 points)
Midwives who have registration with the New Zealand Midwifery Council (includiing the right to prescribe) are entiltled to claim 25 elective education points from the New Zealand Midwifery Council once certificate of completion has been issued.

Overseas Midwives undertaking a competency programme
Overseas midwives completing the Pharmacology and Prescribing compact course for Midwifes as part of New Zealand registration (prescribing rights) are NOT entitled to claim New Zealand Midwifery Council elective education points.

Adult and Neonatal CPR Day

Date: To be advised/will be available to groups of midwives (minimum 10) on request
Cost: $90
Venue: AUT University, 90 Akoranga Drive, Northcote, Auckland

Resuscitation workshop is available to groups of midwives (minimum 10) on request at the AUT North Shore campus or at your venue.

Breastfeeding Study Days

Breastfeeding courses are available to groups of midwives (minimum 10) on request.
