Keep on Moving
A group facilitator with North Harbour Living Without Violence, Gwendoline was looking to gain more insights into violence and trauma when she began her study. Now, having completed the diploma Gwendoline says she understands how critical it is to take a professional approach to the services being delivered. “It got me thinking about the importance of supervision, the importance of ethics and the need to consider the theoretical background to the advice being offered. In my work now I am not responding from an emotional, reactive place but instead communicating professionally based on informed research.”
