The School offers two undergraduate bachelors degrees in a range of different disciplines.
We also offer a pre-degree programme of study called Certificate in Science and Technology.
The Engineering School offers a range of postgraduate qualification options to suit your profile and aspirations. These qualifications help to enhance your career prospects and develop expertise in your chosen field of study.
A message from John Raine, Head of School, Engineering
Professional engineers design, develop and construct most things that enable our lives today. Our cities and homes, air, land and sea transport, consumer goods, telecommunications and medical systems are created and sustained through engineering endeavours. From complex manufacturing systems to smart robotics in movies and real life, from solar photovoltaic power generation to the domestic water supply, nearly everything that impacts on our daily lives has been designed or influenced by engineers.
At AUT University’s School of Engineering, you can work alongside our research and industry partners on advanced technology projects, for example in medical equipment, industrial control, or energy systems. Our teaching staff have diverse backgrounds, are leaders in their fields and are dedicated to engineering for the future.
Their goal is to channel your creativity through knowledge and practice, to challenge your perceptions of how something can be done, and to prepare you for diverse career opportunities in engineering as technical specialists or future managers.
The School of Engineering's degrees are accredited by IPENZ (Institution of Professional Engineers NZ) and The Washington Accord - making our programmes internationally benchmarked. We also have a relationship with The Australian Maritime College for marine engineering.
We need engineers to deliver future technology and a sustainable living environment for a changing world. We need you.
