ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- NCEA: 48 Level 2 credits to include 12 Level 2 credits in English or Te Reo Māori or Te Reo Rangatira including 4 Level 2 credits in each of reading and writing
- CV, police clearance, interview and references
- Must meet New Zealand Teachers Council requirements.
This qualification reflects Pasifika cultures, values and aspirations, and is grounded in early childhood education pedagogy, theory and practice.
The primary goal of this qualification is to prepare teachers who are effective practitioners in early childhood settings, especially those with a Pasifika focus.
WHAT THIS QUALIFICATION COVERS
This qualification covers a wide range of topics and issues in early childhood Pasifika education. The options include the opportunity to observe, analyse and demonstrate safe supervision and behaviour management of Pasifika children, as well as the opportunity to explore the Pasifika early childhood education curriculum.

PATHWAY TO THE BACHELOR OF EDUCATION
(PASIFIKA EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHING)
Holders of the National Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education, Pasifika) may be admitted with advanced standing to the Bachelor of Education (Pasifika Early Childhood Teaching) and must undertake 60 points (1 semester) to complete the degree on the Manukau campus.
