Entry requirements
- Completion of Year 11.
- Applicants must be at least 17
- Applicants must meet the New Zealand Teacher Council's Requirements. These include:
- Supplying two referee reports
- Completing a disclosure/personal declaration form
- Providing authorisation to disclose information for police clearance.
The Certificate in Introduction to Early Childhood Education is designed to equip students with the skills, abilities and confidence needed for further tertiary study. This qualification covers child development, observation and play, tikanga Māori, communication studies and professional development. The students will also gain valuable practical experience in a range of early childhood centres.
