In the Software Development major you will learn how to develop innovative and usable software. If you major in software development you will be able to:
  • Develop and customise quality software solutions.
  • Understand software development methods and practices
  • Know all about the latest software development tools.

WHAT THIS MAJOR COVERS

You will learn how to develop programmes using the Java development environment, going on to study the design and implementation of software, and software engineering. In addition, you will study the core concepts of operating systems, database design, and web development. Elective options are available in topics such as artificial intelligence, computer graphics and animation, and needs analysis and commercial off-the-shelf acquisition.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

  • Computer programmer
  • Software developer
  • Software engineer
  • Web developer
