IT Service Science major: Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences

The IT Service Science major produces graduates who deliver services to the IT industry by selecting, managing and maintaining computer infrastructures in a wide range of settings. Student of this major will be able to:
  • Analyse, design, procure and implement Information Technology solutions
  • Relate functions, services and best practices to Information Technology domains
  • Discuss contemporary architectures and tools and/or develop and implement Internet solutions.
  • Manage IT installations and draw up service level contracts.
  • Manage security and undertake security audits

WHAT THIS MAJOR COVERS
Students study a range of IT 'soft' skills in order to provide quality services to the IT industry: these skills include analysis of IT needs; management of acquisition projects; network and systems administration; IT operations and security management.

PAPERS
Most papers last one semester and are worth 15 points. You must complete 120 points each year (360 points for the entire degree). In each year you will study core (compulsory) papers, and select other papers from a range of options.
