The following lists some of the online texts available:
- The STEPS Statistical Glossary contains brief definitions of a wide range of statistical terms.
- The Statistics Homepage is a huge Electronic Textbook. This deals with advanced topics as well as introductory ones.
- Hyperstat Online is an introductory level hypertext statistics book. It has 18 chapters plus a huge glossary.
- Bill Trochim's Centre for Social Research Methods This is an amazing resource that includes a 'Knowledge Base' with detailed information on Research Methodology, a comprehensive treatment of Reliability, Statistical Models ...This is addressed at the researcher. The project gallery includes students web based research projects. They are a great example of the way that students can use the web. There is much more - you will have to look for yourself.
- Introductory Guide to Statistics This is a very useful first read for those wanting a quick overview or introduction to Statistics.
- SurfStat Australia is a hypertext with diagrams and Java applets. Good coverage of basic topics with worked examples.
- Basic Statistics is a book that includes Java applets demonstrating basic ideas.
- Statistics 30X Class Notes gives detailed notes for a full first year course.
- Biostatistics for the Clinician is an online lecture course that covers Descriptive statistics, Inferential Statistics and Regression.
- Psychology 230: Elementary Statistics contains a summary of the first parts of this course.
- A Handbook of Clinical Trials and Epidemiological Research Designs This is a brief summary, but contains online examples of research papers illustrating each design.
- The Whole art of Deduction is a book of Research skills for Allied Health Scientists. It looks at the processes in carrying out a research project.
- Virtual Laboratories in Probability and Statistics This covers basic topics, it may be too mathematical for some.
- CAST Computer Assisted Statistics Teaching – is a complete course in Introductory Statistics created by Douglas Stirling of Massey University NZ.
- Business Statistic A comprehensive first course.
