Certificate in Communication Studies

The world of communications and the media is growing and constantly changing. Print, broadcast and new media are central to our lives and shape our perception of the world. If you want a career in communications or the media, this certificate could be your first step.

The Certificate in Communication Studies (CertCSts) covers the fundamental communication theory and practice you need to enter the Bachelor of Communication Studies. You will develop basic media writing skills, a sound grasp of information technology and its role in the media, and explore the role of the media in society.
  • Good preparation for AUT University’s Bachelor of Communication Studies
  • An introduction to diverse communication fields, including radio, television, journalism, public relations and media communication
  • Papers focus on contemporary issues in communication
  • Can also serve as a pathway into the Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, Bachelor of Māori Development and other qualifications within the university.

Enrolment in papers is subject to meeting all requirements and availability of papers.
