Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Communication Studies Conjoint Degree

The Bachelor of Communication Studies and the Bachelor of Business conjoint degree programme gives students the opportunity to gain qualifications in both the BBus with a major in Advertising, Accounting, Business Economics, Business Information Systems, Commercial Law, Design, Finance, Human Resource Management and Employment Relations, International Business, Management, Marketing, Retailing, Sales and Tourism, and the BCS, with a major in Advertising Creativity, Creative Industries, Digital Media, Journalism, Professional Communication, Public Relations, Radio or Television.  They can complete this in a reduced period of time and will give them a good grounding for careers in many areas.

Entry requirements

Students admitted to the conjoint degrees must meet the requirements for entry set by each of the component degrees

University Entrance

NCEA:  A minimum of 60 credits at Level 3 over four subjects and/or 19 credits at Level 3 in at least three approved subjects, OR

CIE:  180 points on UCAS tariff

An interview may be required

Note: Entrance to university does not guarantee admission to a specific programme of study.

Special admission

New Zealand or Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents over 20 years of age who do not hold a university entrance qualification (such as NCEA or CIE above) may qualify for university entrance via Special Admission.

English language requirements

Applicants for whom English or Māori is not their first language are required to provide proof of an acceptable pass/grade gained in an accepted English language test. For more details, please refer to English Language Requirements in AUT's Academic Calendar.
