Biography:

Dr Antonio Díaz Andrade joined the dynamic team of researchers at AUT University in 2009. He is co-leader of the Digital Mobility Research Group within the New Zealand Work Research Institute.

Prior to joining AUT University, Antonio lectured at The University of Auckland, where he obtained a PhD in Management Science and Information Systems in 2008. Before this he lectured at Universidad ESAN, Peru completing an MBA there in 2000. Antonio also holds a BEng in mechanical-aeronautical engineering from Instituto Universitario Aeronáutico, Argentina. Antonio has spent 15 years in the Peruvian Air Force and is currently serving as the Australasian Vice-Chair for IFIP 9.4 – Social Implications of Computers in Developing Countries.

Research Summary:

My main research work is in the area of information and communication technology for development (ICT4D). I am actively involved with ICT4D research community as an author, presenter, teacher and reviewer. I am passionate about the interplay between computer-mediated information and people and how the former can improve the living conditions of the latter.
