AUT’s Business School has come of age. We are now recognised as one of the leaders of the pack in terms of business research in New Zealand. We have also achieved a recognised status as a world class institution for research. This was confirmed by our rankings for the 2006 government-initiated Performance Based Research Fund (PBRF) audit of research activities for all New Zealand universities. The PBRF now ranks AUT Business School amongst the top 5 research-led Business Schools in the country. AUT’s Accounting and Finance were ranked first in Auckland and second in New Zealand by the PBRF.
We are naturally excited about the developments of our research, which is characterised by its multidisciplinary nature and known for its focus on business application. We are proud of these aspects of our work as they further strengthen our links with business, industry and the public sector and allow for exciting, cross-disciplinary projects and programmes. Research within the School is also of paramount importance to underpin, develop and inform our teaching. Many of our undergraduate and postgraduate students are actively involved in research projects as part of their studies and the School has become home to a rapidly growing number of doctoral students.
