Biography:
Sanjay came to New Zealand in 2003 with his wife and son. Pre-2003 he worked in finance, venture capital and in consulting for more than 2 decades. He has funded projects, advised on capital raising, mergers & acquisitions, restructuring including turnarounds, entrepreneurship development, and collaborated in projects internationally. The last non-academic position he held was in India as Country Director, Corporate Finance for Arthur Andersen.
Sanjay has received the Beta Gamma Sigma award 2008, Best Paper Award, 4th AGSE International Research Exchange, 2007 and an Enterprise Scholarship 2003-2006 (University of Auckland doctoral scholarship award).
Sanjay brings practical industry experience to his teaching, and has taught management and entrepreneurship related courses in the undergraduate, postgraduate and executive programmes. Examining the internationalisation of entrepreneurial technology firms in New Zealand, Sanjay did his PhD as an Enterprise Scholar, with the prestigious doctoral scholarship sponsored by Microsoft and the New Zealand government. His present research interests lie in the areas of strategy, internationalisation, entrepreneurship, uncertainty and human action, and social cause venturing.
