Research Summary:

Irshad’s research interests are in the area of financial accounting/ reporting and accounting pedagogy.  In the area of financial reporting he is interested in investigating the use of the Internet by companies to disclose financial and non-financial information and the utilisation of technological advancements such as webcasts in the disclosure of such information. His other research interest is in the area of accounting pedagogy. He is interested in looking at the issues and challenges facing accounting educators and students and the pedagogical implications of these.  He is particularly interested in researching the non-participation of specific ethnic groups in accounting and accounting education and the long term implications of this. He is also interested in first year higher education and ethics education
